Let’s Hang Out at Pet Palooza! (Yes, There Will Be Dogs.)
I’ll be at Pet Palooza on Saturday, April 12th, and I’m so ready for it. This is my first big pet photography event, and it’s basically a full day dedicated to dogs. Honestly? That’s my kind of scene.
Pet Palooza kicks off with a Fundraising Walk at 10 AM, and the vendor festival runs from 11 to 3 at Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. It’s hosted by the Humane Society of Charlotte, and your $10 entry helps support animals in need (kids 10 and under are free). Whether you're joining the walk or just stopping by to soak in the dog energy, come say hey!
Getting into pet photography has felt a little like finding something I didn’t even realize I was missing. Hanging out with animals, seeing their personalities shine, and getting to capture that in a way people can hold onto forever—it just clicks (pun intended). I’ll have some of my favorite work on display at my booth, including a big print of Georgie and Mae, a donkey and horse duo that still makes me smile every time I look at it.
A Quiet Moment Between Friends
Georgie the donkey and Mae the horse shared this calm little moment during our session, and I’m still kind of obsessed with how peaceful and connected they were. You don’t always expect such different animals to be in sync, but these two? Total sister soulmates.
There’ll be treats for the dogs (because of course), and a container of chocolates for humans—with a little sign that says “for humans only” because, well, better safe than sorry. I’m also giving away collapsible bowls—grab one for free if you toss me a follow on Instagram! And if you're feeling lucky, there’s a chance to win a free mini session, plus anyone who books a session at the event will get a free 8x10 print.
I’ll be the one in the “Can I take a picture of your pet?” shirt, awkwardly trying to say hi to strangers while internally freaking out over how cute everyone’s dog is. If your pup is up for it, I might even try to snap a quick photo right there at the booth. And if you’re flying solo, come chat anyway—maybe you’ve got a dog at home or a pet-loving friend who’d love a surprise session.
Head Tilt Champion of the World
Nugget brought full pittie charm and a perfect head tilt to her session—and yes, she absolutely knew how cute she was. One of my favorite portraits because it captures exactly who she is: curious, goofy, and completely lovable.
It’s shaping up to be a really fun day, and I’d love for you to be part of it.

I’ll be at the vendor festival with some of my favorite pet portraits, treats for your pups, free collapsible bowls, and more. This is my first big event as a pet photographer, and I’d love for you to stop by, say hi, and let me gush over your dog for a bit. 😄
