Countdown to Pet Palooza: I'm Nervous, Excited, and Definitely Bringing Snacks

It’s almost here! Pet Palooza is this Saturday, and I’m doing that thing where I go back and forth between “I’m so ready” and “what if I forget something and panic and melt into the sidewalk?”

Most of the prep has been genuinely fun—I’ve loved putting the table together and imagining all the dogs I’ll get to see, pet, and totally fall in love with for at least 30 seconds each. (I’m probably going to be emotionally overwhelmed by 11:15, but in a good way.)

Table set up!

Missing the slideshow that will be right in the middle, but look at this handy dandy table!

But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous, too. The truth is, I worry a little about whether I’ll be good at engaging with people. I’m not a natural extrovert, and striking up conversations with strangers is not something that comes easy to me. I just hope the love I have for animals—and the care I put into every photo—comes across and makes people want to stop, chat, and maybe even book a session.

If you do stop by my booth, my hope is that you’ll feel joy. That you’ll see one of the images and smile so hard you have to tell your dog they’re next. That you’ll want to freeze this moment in your pet’s life—whether it’s full of puppy chaos, senior sweetness, or that exact expression they make when they know you're sneaking them another treat.

We could all use a collapsible bowl!

If you stop by, you can have a free one! Just give me a follow on Instagram so you can stay up to date on my pet photography adventures.

I’ll have my usual setup: prints on display, dog treats, chocolates (which I will absolutely sneak for myself), and free collapsible bowls if you give me a follow on Instagram. I might also bring something more personal—maybe Pete’s collar or his ashes. Pete was my dog who passed in 2021, and honestly, this whole journey into pet photography is something I didn’t even realize I needed until I started doing it. He’s a big part of why I’m here.

For Humans Only

Don’t get confused, just because the chocolate is in a dog dish, doesn’t mean it is for dogs!! This treat is for the people of the pets!

What I want most from this event? I’d love to take some quick snapshots of pups at the festival that turn out so well, their people book a full session because they want more. And hey, I wouldn’t mind a few compliments either—I’m human.

A free session?! Yes, please!

If you stop by the booth you can scan this QR code, or sign up on my physical list to enter for a chance to win a free mini session! If the page to enter is still available, you can still enter!!

If you only stop by for a second, I hope the quality of my work catches your eye. If you hang around longer, you might hear Jess Glynne playing in the background and catch me double-dipping into the chocolate bowl I technically set out for visitors.

See you at Truist Field on Saturday. I’ll be the one in the “Can I take a picture of your pet?” shirt, awkwardly trying to be cool around dogs I’m way too excited to meet.

Can I take a picture of your pet?

Stop by and let me capture an amazing photo of your little fur baby!!
