Main Character Dog Photos at Dog Days of Winter (Feb 7)

I haven’t posted a blog since 6/11/25 and… yep. It’s time.

Dog Days of Winter is happening Saturday, February 7, 2026 at the U.S. National Whitewater Center, and it’s basically a full day of dogs, demos, vendors, and winter energy. Admission is listed as FREE.

I’ll be there too—shooting on-site mini sessions with what should be a really solid view of the Center in the background (aka: not just a random patch of grass behind your dog).

Enjoying….or not…the first snow of his life.

What’s happening at Dog Days of Winter

USNWC’s posted schedule includes the Dog Jog 5K Trail Race + 1 Mile Walk at 10:00am, Vendor Village opening at 10:00am, plus demos and activities throughout the day. “Dogs on Ice” is also scheduled 10:00am–4:30pm.

If you’re going: show up, wander, let your dog take it all in, and plan on leaving with about 700 new photos on your phone… or a couple that actually deserve to be framed.

Mini sessions on-site: $75 for 2 edited photos

I’ll be offering pet mini sessions during the event:

$75 • 10–15 minutes • 2 edited images
+$15 if you want a 3rd image

These are quick, low-pressure, and built around what your dog gives me that day—whether that’s calm and regal… or full gremlin mode.

Group note (so nobody’s surprised): I won’t say “no” to people wanting photos with their pets. That said, minis move fast—so if you have a big group or multiple pets, we’ll keep it simple and efficient so you still get great results in the time slot.

Where to find me + how to book

  • When: 10:00am–4:15pm

  • Where: Booth 58 (there’s a map on my site with the booth location circled)

  • Booking: Walk-up or pre-book — both are welcome

You can find me in booth 58!

Turn your mini into credit toward a full session

If you book a full session by Feb 14 (your session can be scheduled for later), your $75 mini becomes credit toward that full session.

If you’ve been thinking about doing a full session but want an easy starting point, this is it.

A few quick tips for the best photos

  • Bring high-value treats (the “I would do anything for this” kind).

  • Dogs will be on leash at the event — and if your leash is bulky, I may ask to swap to a thin leash for a cleaner look (optional, just makes editing easier).

  • Don’t stress about perfection. I love photographing dogs in motion, and this event has plenty of it.

My nose is cold

Can you please get this snow off my nose!

Want a spot?

If you want to lock in a time, pre-book. If you’re more of a “we’ll see how the day goes” person, swing by Booth 58 and we’ll make it happen.

See you Feb 7. Bring the treats.
