Event: Doggy ’Lympics — Trick Stations + Grand Finale (Sit & Stay)

By registering, checking “I agree,” and typing my name and the date, I confirm I am 18+ and accept the terms below for myself and any minors I accompany.
RULES
Leashes & control. Dogs must be on a standard 4–6 ft leash under handler control at all times. No retractable leashes in activity areas. Keep safe distance from other dogs unless invited by staff.
Health & eligibility. Dogs must be healthy and current on routine vaccinations to the best of my knowledge. Please skip if your dog is coughing, vomiting, has diarrhea, or is in heat.
Behavior. If a dog shows unsafe or overly stressed behavior, staff/trainer may pause, modify, or stop participation. Handlers must follow staff directions immediately.
Treats. Use soft, pea-size treats only. No xylitol or unsafe ingredients. Bring your own treats; limited treats may be provided at stations.
Clean-up. I will promptly clean up after my dog. Waste bags/bins are available.
Timing. Be at your station when called. Late arrivals may be moved to the end of the line or forfeit the attempt.
Station rules. Each station allows up to three attempts (see product descriptions for details). Shell Game: no pointing, lifting bowls, or other physical assistance by handlers; verbal encouragement is fine.
Safety edits. Trainer and staff may change a setup or end an attempt for safety at any time. Their decisions are final.
Finale presence. Overall finalists must be present for the Grand Finale (approx. 3:51 PM) to compete.
Venue environment. Brewery floors may be slick; there may be ambient noise, crowds, strollers, and moving equipment. Mind your footing and your dog’s arousal level.
Personal items. I am responsible for my belongings. The host/partners are not responsible for loss or damage.
Alcohol. If I choose to consume alcohol, I will remain capable of safely handling my dog. Staff may disqualify any visibly impaired participant.
PHOTO & MEDIA
Included photo. Entry includes one edited action photo delivered via Pixieset; extra images may be available for purchase after the event.
Promotional use. Unless I decline in the registration form, I grant Pets Are Really Cool, Hi-Wire Brewing, Billie’s Buddies, the trainer, and event sponsors permission to use event photos/video of me and my dog(s) for marketing (web, social, print) without compensation. If I decline, I will uncheck the photo-permission box at checkout and notify staff at check-in so my wristband can be marked.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE, AND INDEMNITY
Assumption of risk. I understand dog activities carry inherent risks (scratches, bites, knock-downs, dog-dog interactions, slips/falls) and that participation is voluntary. I accept all risks for myself, minors with me, and my dog(s).
Release. To the fullest extent permitted by North Carolina law, I release and hold harmless Pets Are Really Cool (and its owners/agents), Hi-Wire Brewing, Billie’s Buddies, Champion K9 Companions (trainer), event sponsors (including but not limited to The Grown Ass Pet Sitter, Animal City Haven, BrittCraft, and The Leash Lounge), volunteers, and their employees/agents from liability for injury, illness, or property damage arising from the event, except to the extent caused by their gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Indemnification. I agree to indemnify and defend the released parties against claims, losses, and costs arising from my or my dog’s actions.
Emergency care. If needed, I authorize reasonable first aid and/or transport for veterinary/medical care at my expense. Emergency vet information is posted at check-in.
REFUNDS & CHANGES
Entries are non-refundable but may be transferred to another handler/dog before the event by emailing pets@petsarereallycool.com. If the host cancels the event, I may receive a refund or credit at the host’s discretion. Schedule and station order may change as needed for safety or logistics; staff decisions are final.
CONFIRMATION
By checking the required box and typing my full name and today’s date at checkout, I acknowledge I have read, understand, and agree to these Rules & Waiver, and I am the owner/authorized handler of the dog(s) participating.
